What to Expect
Consultation
We talk through the look you want, assess your lip shape, facial proportions and profile, and agree on a plan. If a more gradual approach will give you a better result, we'll tell you.
Preparation
The area is cleansed and a topical numbing cream is applied to keep you comfortable. Most lip fillers also contain lidocaine, which adds to your comfort during treatment.
Treatment
Filler is placed in small, precise amounts to build shape, definition and volume. The injections themselves typically take 15 to 30 minutes.
Post-Treatment
Swelling and tenderness are normal for the first few days and occasionally there is some bruising. You'll go home with aftercare instructions, and your final result settles in over about two weeks.
Follow-Up
We can check in around two weeks after treatment to review your results and decide together whether any refinement is needed.

Will my lips look natural?
Yes. Our goal is lips that suit your face and still look like you. We work conservatively, respect your natural lip shape, and would rather build volume over more than one visit than overfill in one.
How much filler will I need?
It depends on your starting point and your goals. Many first-time patients start with one syringe or less. We'll make a recommendation at your consultation and never use more product than you need.
Does lip filler hurt?
The lips are a sensitive area, but topical numbing and the lidocaine in the filler make treatment very manageable. Most patients describe pressure and a brief pinching sensation.
How long does the swelling last?
Swelling is usually most noticeable for the first 24 to 72 hours and then settles. We recommend booking at least two weeks before any big event so your lips have fully settled.
How long does lip filler last?
Most lip fillers are FDA approved to last around 6 to 12 months, however it can last less time or longer depending on your individual metabolism.
Which lip fillers do you use?
We use hyaluronic acid fillers from the Restylane and RHA collections and choose the specific product based on your lip tissue and the look you want, from soft hydration to more structure and volume.
Can lip filler be dissolved?
Yes. Hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase if needed. This is one of the reasons we use them.
